Our first tasting event with family owned winery since 1790, Parés Balta from Barcelona.

Their two wine makers, María Elena and Marta brought a renaissance to Parés Balta. Under their direction the range of wines we produce has broadened, they instigated new and innovative techniques, such as the green harvest in some of our best vineyards; in the cellar they use some traditional and older school practices, making wine in clay amphorae or demijohns. A more remarkable insight of theirs was to work towards the revival of local grape varietals that have almost been lost in the use of winemaking, specifically Sumoll, Malvasia de Sitges or White Carignan.
